Animal Spirit Workshop and Guided Meditation

When I went to my first shamanistic-style meditation, I must admit it sounded a bit hokey, but it was a great experience. I enjoyed getting into my center and feeling connected to who "I am". I felt that the animal totems were a very powerful symbolism that helped me through the meditative journey. It was, actually, one of the only times I've felt my physical self "transform", which was really cool.

I have never done a workshop with Steve Potoki, but I know Bernadette Doran who runs the center and she always has quality people around her. My feeling is that to find what really resonates with me, I need to be open to exploring all sorts of venues and practitioners. Join me if you feel the same way or already enjoy shamanistic guided meditations.

It's time to reconnect with the "Source of Oneness" and divinity with our bodymind and spirit through our Animal Spirits. As the ancients well knew, the world was and still is inhabited by higher beings who took on the form of fantastical creatures, part animal, part human and exceedingly powerful. These luminous creatures are the spirit guides who heal the sick, lead the departed to the next life, and restore balance and harmony in a troubled world. Shamans knew these animal spirits well, moving beyond time and space to invoke the power of these great beings. In this workshop, we will learn about the animal spirits or totems, the medicine wheel (or angel wheel), and creating sacred space. You?ll be guided through a journey that may put you in touch with your own sacred, personal animal spirit guide or guides. Please wear comfortable clothing, bring a favorite blanket, pillow or cushion, and bring a sacred object for the meditation.
